Prohibition Against Homosexuality & Child Molestation

According to Jewish Law, a man who lies with another man or with a boy is put to death by stoning.  A victim of child abuse is obviously not at fault, but a man who sexually abuses boys would be worthy of death if convicted in a Jewish Court.

The source of the Halacha is in Vayikra (Leviticus)

1) “And if a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood shall be upon them” (Leviticus 20:13): 2) “And you shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination” (Leviticus 18:22).

The Mishnah and Gemara expound upon the Halacha.

Source: Gemara Sanhedrin 54:

גמ׳ זכר מנא לן דת"ר (ויקרא כ, יג) איש פרט לקטן אשר ישכב את זכר בין גדול בין קטן משכבי אשה מגיד לך הכתוב ששני משכבות באשה

Translation of the GEMARA: From where do we derive the prohibition and punishment for homosexual intercourse with a male? It is as the Sages taught in a baraita with regard to the verse: “And if a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood shall be upon them” (Leviticus 20:13): The word “man” excludes a minor boy. The phrase “lies with a male” is referring to any male, whether he is an adult man or whether he is a minor boy. The phrase “as with a woman [mishkevei isha],” referring to lying with a woman, appears in the plural. The verse teaches you that there are two manners of lying with a woman for which one who engages in intercourse with a woman forbidden to him is punished, vaginal and anal intercourse.

Author's Explanation: The Gemara is basing the Halacha upon the verse: “And if a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood shall be upon them” (Leviticus 20:13):  Only a man who is not a minor is liable as it say "And if a man.." man refers to a male who is not a minor.  However, the continuation of the verse uses the word male not man, "And if a man lies with a male..." Male includes adult men and minor boys. Therefor the Halacha is that an adult man who engages in sexual relations with a male (whether adult or minor) is punishable by death in a Jewish Court.
